Content creationSocial media management
Ten questions to ask before hiring content creation or social media help.
Before you hire someone, make sure you can explain what they will produce, what they will manage, what your team still owns, and what the engagement will cost.
A clear proposal connects those responsibilities to a practical process. Use these questions when comparing providers or preparing for a conversation with us.
1. What exactly counts as a deliverable?
Ask for the number of original videos, carousel posts, photographs, or story pieces. Confirm whether versions for different platforms count as additional original content and how many slides or frames are included.
For example, our 12 Reels package contains twelve unique reels formatted for the listed platforms. The Full Content Plan includes twelve reels, eight carousels (up to six slides each, for Instagram and Facebook), and twenty finished story pieces each month; a story piece is one finished vertical clip or designed photo frame. Its eight additional prompts are ideas your team creates, not extra finished deliverables. Those definitions make it easier to understand the volume you are buying.
2. How will you decide what the content should say?
Ask what the provider needs to learn about your customers, services, and sales conversations. Find out how that information becomes topics and how you review the direction.
Our setup includes initial market research and an Ideal Customer Profile Content Messaging Map, covering one business, one core geographic market, and up to two related priority services. The $450 reels setup delivers a research summary, customer profile, at least six completed map entries, twelve starter content angles, and four content themes. The $950 Full Content Plan setup also reviews your existing social content and delivers at least twelve entries, twenty-four starter angles, a 90-day thematic roadmap, and the first monthly calendar. 3. Who provides the footage and photographs?
Confirm whether the proposal includes original filming or expects your team to capture and supply material. Ask about the location, people, access, travel, and extra production days.
Each of our monthly content packages includes one filming visit at one agreed location. Full Content includes video and photography in that visit. Additional locations, filming, travel, and other requirements are quoted before booking.
4. What will you need from my team?
Identify who needs to participate in planning, who appears on camera, who arranges access, and who signs off on the finished work. Ask how filming duration is determined for the planned content.
Our clients provide business information, arrange access, participate in the agreed production, and review the content. We develop the topics and guide the filming. With the Full Content Plan, your team can also create pieces from eight monthly prompts, join one 30-minute strategy call each month, and send up to four posts, drafts, or ideas for feedback through one agreed channel; we respond within two business days, and your team completes the revisions. That is a defined allowance, not unlimited consulting. Read about the monthly client role.
5. How do drafts, feedback, and revisions work?
Ask when drafts arrive, how you submit feedback, how many revision rounds are included, and what happens if required information arrives late or the filming plan changes.
Our content drafts arrive within seven business days after filming and receipt of the required information. You send consolidated feedback within three business days; revisions follow within three business days after that. One consolidated revision round is included. The process page explains the setup sequence and rescheduling terms too.
6. Who publishes and answers comments or messages?
“Social content” can cover different responsibilities. Get an explicit answer about scheduling, publishing, checking accounts, response hours, reply allowances, and escalation to your team.
Our content packages supply finished material for your team to publish. Management is available exclusively with the Full Content Plan and adds defined publishing, routine responses, and lead handoff. Its publishing covers the content we produce, up to twenty feed placements and twenty story pieces per selected platform each month; publishing additional pieces your team creates is agreed separately. Management and Outreach adds its stated prospect activity. Review the full management scope.
7. What happens when someone wants to buy?
Agree on the person who receives inquiries, the handoff timing, and the information passed along. Decide who handles estimates, appointments, and sales follow-up.
Under our management scope, relevant lead requests go to your named contact by the next business day. We pass along the conversation and context. Your team handles the next sales step and can tell us which inquiries became useful opportunities.
8. What do we keep, and whose name are the accounts in?
Ask which finished assets you can continue using, how they are delivered, and whether camera originals, unused footage, or editing files are included. Confirm account ownership and the access arrangements before work begins.
With Storyline & Sinker, your accounts stay in your name. After payment, you receive the approved finished content for ongoing business use, plus your research summary and messaging map. Camera originals, unused footage, and editing project files can be scoped separately.
9. What will the reporting tell us?
Ask which activities are recorded and how customer inquiries are identified. If a provider discusses sales results, ask what information supports that connection and what your team needs to report back.
Our management summary covers publishing, responses, incoming leads, and handoffs. Management and Outreach also reports follower review and outreach activity. Your follow-up records help establish what happens after an interested person reaches your team.
10. What is the full commitment?
Ask for the monthly fee, setup cost, contract term, additional platform charges, travel, and optional production. Check the conditions for changes and the payment schedule in the agreement.
Our content packages have a six-month term, monthly billing, and a one-time setup: $450 for the reels packages or $950 for the Full Content Plan. Moving from a reels package to Full Content during the engagement costs the $500 setup difference. Management runs alongside the remaining Full Content term. Ad campaign creation, ad management, and platform ad spend are separately scoped.
The cost guide shows the package totals so you can compare the commitment as well as the monthly price.
Bring your actual working situation to the conversation.
Tell the provider who currently handles content, what keeps getting delayed, and how much responsibility you want to hand over. Share a recurring customer question and a piece of work you wish more people understood.
Those details make it easier to discuss a useful scope and a workable process.
